OUR SPEAKER
Gabrielle Williams MP: Minister for Transport Infrastructure, Minister for Public and Active Transport and Minister for Women and Girls
Gabrielle Williams has proudly represented her local community as the Member for Dandenong in the Victorian Parliament since 2014. She currently serves as Minister for Transport Infrastructure, Minister for Public and Active Transport and Minister for Women and Girls.

Gabrielle believes good transport options give people opportunity and makes their daily lives a little bit easier. Since becoming Minister, Gabrielle has overseen the delivery of projects like the Metro Tunnel and West Gate Tunnel, giving Victorians more options in how they get around our state. She is focused on continuing to deliver projects Victorians need, now and for generations to come.

Gabrielle is also committed to making public transport more affordable, taking pressure off household budgets. She is also a passionate advocate for active transport, and seeks to use the government’s Big Build agenda to improve active transport connections.

Gabrielle has always worked hard to progress gender equality and is proud to continue this work as the Minister for Women and Girls. That means better access to health care, making sure women and girls feel safe, and giving them more flexibility in juggling work and parenthood.

First appointed to the Cabinet in 2018, Gabrielle has previously served in a number of portfolios, including Government Services, Consumer Affairs, Ambulance Services, Mental Health, Treaty and First Peoples, Prevention of Family Violence and Youth. Prior to 2018, she served as Parliamentary Secretary across the Health, Carers and Volunteers, and Industry and Employment portfolios.

Gabrielle holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Monash University. She has previously worked as a lawyer and project manager and has served as a director of a not-for-profit disability sport organisation. Her most important job is mum to her 3 year old son, Ruairi.
